Working hours: 48 HOURS PER WEEK 4 ON 3 OFF -12 HOUR SHIFTS

The Role: Foundry Operative
Plant Operation
Monitor the pouring of molten metal into moulds and other forms to create castings with the help of ladles and hand-operated equipment.
Carefully track the temperature gauges and colour, heating units, furnace flames, etc. to melt metal as per requirements.
Adjust extra metal and skim slag in ingots or equipment with strainers, burners, and other hand tools.
Ensure that water is circulated through the cores or water is sprayed on filled moulds to create a solid metal product.
Build sand moulds for castings with roto-lifts, induction furnaces and jolt squeeze machines.
Material management
Lab testing
Furnace Loading
Housekeeping
Candidates must:
Have Counterbalance FLT License
Ability to complete low level maintenance
Be environmentally Aware
Be computer literate (MS Office: Word and Excel Intermediate)
Previous work experience in heavy industry manufacturing environment such as foundry, recycling or quarry and aggregates sectors would be an advantage however all applicants with necessary skills will be considered.
