Harvey Nash's public sector client is currently looking to recruit a Developer to join their team based in Edinburgh for an initial 6-month period.
Description:
An experienced developer with solid commercial AWS development experience is required to accelerate a move from legacy on-prem registers to new cloud-native solutions. The focus of the work will be the collaborative development of new serverless micro-services using AWS Lambda functions and TypeScript/JavaScript.
Essential Skills:
AWS including: CDK
Serverless (Lambda)
S3
API Gateway
CloudFormation

TypeScript (or modern JavaScript)
Making excellent quality software with other people.
Working with business stakeholders, to understand the context, and to focus on delivering value.
Design and implementation of solutions using a service-based and serverless architecture. xwzovoh
Excellent collaboration, communication and teamwork skills
Experience working in the Agile delivery models - such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks.
Developing within GDS or Digital First (or similar) quality standards
Cloud monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools and processes
Formal XP engineering techniques, including Pair Programming and Test-Driven Development
Defining infrastructure-as-code
Desirable Skills:
Human-centred, research-driven, inclusive design practices
Testing tools and frameworks, e.g. Cypress
Use of UI pattern libraries to achieve consistent, tested and high-quality interfaces
