School Caretaker- Shropshire

We are currently recruiting experienced School Caretakers for a variety of Primary, Secondary, and SEND schools across Shropshire. These positions suit practical, dependable individuals who are confident overseeing the day-to-day running, maintenance, and security of school premises. This role requires someone who can work independently, take initiative, and manage site responsibilities effectively from the outset. Key Responsibilities: Opening and locking school sites, ensuring full site security at all times Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic building upkeep Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations across the premises Conducting routine inspections and reporting any faults or hazards Supervising contractors and ensuring work is completed safely Maintaining outdoor areas including grounds, pathways, and entrances Supporting with room moves, deliveries, and school events Monitoring and managing site systems such as heating, lighting, and alarms Requirements: Previous experience working as a School Caretaker or Site Supervisor is essential Good working knowledge of health & safety within a school environment Ability to carry out maintenance tasks independently and efficiently Strong time management and organisational skills Reliable, proactive, and professional approach Important Information: No training will be provided - candidates must be experienced and ready to start immediately An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is preferred Candidates without an Enhanced DBS must be willing to obtain and pay for their own check Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
