We are looking for a passionate and skilled Lecturer in Plumbing to join our Construction team.
Are you an experienced Plumber ready to step into education? Or perhaps you’re already teaching and looking for a new challenge? Either way, we want to hear from you.
You will deliver high‑quality teaching and assessment on City & Guilds Plumbing programmes from Level 1 to Level 2, working with both 16–18 learners and adult students on full‑time courses.
Whether you are an experienced Plumbing professional looking to move into education, or an established lecturer seeking a new opportunity, this role offers the chance to inspire the next generation of electricians while developing your own teaching career.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess Plumbing courses up to Level 2
- Support, motivate, and track learner progress to help students reach their full potential
- Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement, and standardisation activities
- Manage classroom and workshop environments to a high standard, ensuring health and safety compliance
- Maintain up‑to‑date industry knowledge and incorporate real‑world electrical practice into teaching
- Participate in tutorials, assessments, and learner reviews in line with College requirements
Our Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- A teaching qualification at Level 5, or a willingness to work towards one
- Substantial industry experience as a Plumber
- Ideally a Level 3 plumbing Qualification (city and guilds 6035 6189 or equivalent)
- Assessor award or willingness to work towards one.
- Strong communication skills with a genuine passion for teaching and learner development

These include (some of which are dependent on the role and the individual): Enhanced DBS including Children’s Barred List check, DfE teaching/management Barred List check, on-line searches, overseas criminal record check, evidence of identity and Right to Work in the UK, satisfactory references, confirmation of medical fitness, evidence of relevant qualifications and a check of previous employment history.
