Quality Process Engineer | West Midlands | £35,000-£45,000 + Benefits
Full‑time, 40 hours per week
Start time from 6:00am (flexible, with flexibility expected in return)
Unpaid 30‑minute break daily | 25 days holiday + bank holidays
The Opportunity
We're partnering with a manufacturing business operating in a technically demanding, process‑driven environment that places strong emphasis on product integrity and customer performance. As the business continues to mature its quality systems and culture, this role plays a central part in driving continuous improvement across operations.
This is a hands‑on Quality Process Engineer position, working closely with manufacturing, technical and leadership teams to strengthen process control, reduce variation and improve overall customer experience.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you'll take ownership of day‑to‑day quality performance and improvement activity across the business. Your role will include:
- Analysing quality data, identifying trends and reporting performance to drive proactive improvement
- Leading root cause investigations using tools such as 5 Whys and 8D, tracking corrective actions through to closure
- Implementing and maintaining effective process controls to reduce scrap, rework and customer returns
- Managing internal and external non‑conformances, including rejects, concessions and customer complaints
- Supporting audits, documentation, SOPs and quality alerts to ensure compliance and consistency
You'll also play a broader role in embedding a "quality‑first" culture, supporting teams at all levels to take ownership of quality and process discipline.

What We're Looking For
You'll be an experienced Quality Engineer or Quality Process Engineer from a manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to iron foundry or high‑integrity casting processes. You'll bring:
- Strong working knowledge of quality management systems and data‑driven improvement
- Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action activities
- Confidence engaging with production, engineering and leadership teams to influence change
- A practical, detail‑focused approach with strong communication skills
Awareness of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949, Lean or structured problem‑solving methodologies is advantageous. Formal qualifications are beneficial but not essential if you can demonstrate the right practical experience and mindset.
