A specialist school in Milton Keynes is seeking a Psychology Graduate Mental Health Assistant to join their supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology graduate, looking to gain valuable hands-on experience within mental health, SEN, and education.
The school supports children and young people with ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs etc.. providing a fantastic foundation for individuals interested in pursuing careers in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology,Counselling, or Mental Health Support.
This role as a Psychology Graduate Mental Health Assistant offers a unique opportunity to develop practical experience,while making a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable students.
As a Psychology Graduate Mental Health Assistant in Milton Keynes, you will work closely with students who require additional emotional, behavioural, and academic support. You will help create a safe and engaging learning environment while supporting students with emotional regulation and classroom engagement.
You will work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, to provide tailored support strategies that meet each student's individual needs.
Responsabilities of a Psychology Graduate Mental Health Assistant in Milton Keynes:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN and SEMH needs
Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and behavioural challenges
Assisting with emotional regulation and social development
Helping students engage positively with learning activities
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Assisting with targeted interventions and therapeutic approaches
The Ideal Psychology Graduate Mental Health Assistant in Milton Keynes:
Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, or Education graduate
Previous experience as a SEN TA, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker, or Mental Health Assistant is desirable
Passionate about mental health, SEN, and child development
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, empathetic, and adaptable
