The Lifting Engineer Opportunity
This is a development role for an engineering graduate looking to build a specialist career in lifting operations. Based within a busy manufacturing environment, you will support experienced Appointed Persons in the planning and documentation of lifting arrangements, with a clear and fully funded pathway to formal competence. If you have a strong safety mindset and the drive to develop in a safety-critical discipline, this is an opportunity worth pursuing.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the preparation of lift plans, method statements and risk assessments in line with LOLER Regulation 8
- Interpreting engineering drawings to understand load characteristics, centres of gravity and slinging arrangements
- Specifying standard lifting accessories including chain slings, shackles and lifting beams
- Documenting and maintaining controlled lifting records in line with company procedures
- Working with production, engineering and H&S teams to gather information and communicate lifting requirements
- Contributing to near-miss reporting, lessons learned and standardisation of lifting solutions
- Identifying opportunities to improve lifting safety, ergonomics and efficiency
What We're Looking For xwzovoh
- Engineering Degree
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- A genuine commitment to safety and a professional approach in a regulated environment
- Willingness to undertake safety-critical formal qualifications
- 1–2 years' experience in manufacturing, construction or heavy industry (desirable)
- CAD software experience (desirable)
