Product Owner – Analytics £45,000–£60,000 (plus bonus) Location: London – 2 days per week in the office (Tuesday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Thursday), remote the rest Our client is a market leader in risk and credit analytics across the energy, commodities, and financial services sectors. Their technology helps global trading firms manage exposure, streamline reporting, and make smarter, data-driven decisions. As part of the growth of their Analytics product line, they’re hiring a Product Owner to help shape the next generation of risk and analytics tools used by major energy and commodities players worldwide. It’s a chance to build something rather than just chase tail with reconciliation issues.” This role is designed for someone early in their career -ideally with a background in middle or back office, product control, or risk analysis -who enjoys working with data, understands financial workflows, and wants to transition into product management. You’ll get exposure to the full product lifecycle — from requirement gathering and analysis to testing, release, and enhancement. Work with clients and internal teams to gather and clarify requirements, shaping features for analytics and risk systems. Analyse and validate outputs from pricing and risk engines (e.g. Support UAT, issue triage, and QA, ensuring smooth and timely releases. Analytical – strong mathematical or logical mindset, confident interrogating data and results. Commercially aware – understands how middle and back office functions support trading and risk. Around 2–3 years’ experience in a middle office, product control, or risk environment. Exposure to commodities, energy, or financial services. Strong Excel and SQL skills, and confidence handling and analysing data. You’ll learn directly from senior Product Managers and quants while working on live client projects. Work with major clients such as BP, Shell, and Glencore, building tools that power real-world decision-making. Contribute to the energy transition, helping to develop analytics for renewables and new market derivatives.
