You're a few years into your structural career and you can feel the ceiling. The schemes are someone else's, your calculations get checked before they ever leave your desk, and the interesting decisions happen two pay grades above you. That stops here.This is a mid sized structural consultancy in central London, small enough for you to be trusted with a whole building and established enough that the buildings are worth designing. They work across residential, commercial and mixed use, often on tight urban sites where the structural solution is the difference between a scheme that stacks up and one that does not. The role exists because the workload has outgrown the current team, not because someone walked out.What changes for you is ownership. You take packages from concept through to construction, talk directly to architects and clients rather than through a layer of management, and watch your decisions get built. There is real support towards chartership if you are not there yet, and the senior engineers still have time to teach because the practice has deliberately stayed lean.You will fit if you have two to five years in UK structures, a working grip on concrete, steel and timber, and the appetite to run your own work rather than wait your turn.
