Process Development Technician

Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA) Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex. Join a world-class manufacturing site at the forefront of PCA innovation. We're seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the development and execution of cutting-edge, cost-effective strategies for printed circuit assembly. This pivotal role ensures seamless new product introduction, operational excellence, and sustained technological leadership across our global Vacuum Technique divisions. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement advanced PCA manufacturing strategies aligned with industry best practices. Lead OEE performance across manufacturing and test cells, ensuring timely support and continuous improvement. Strengthen and grow a high-performing engineering team through recruitment, development, and coaching. Oversee capital investment planning, cost-centre budgeting, and resource deployment to meet KPIs. Ensure standardised NPI processes (DFMEA, PFMEA, AOI, pick-to-light, etc.) across all teams. Champion shop floor optimisation and manufacturability standards for new product integration. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning across the engineering function. Leadership & Team Development Build robust people plans and talent pipelines with clear development pathways. Drive performance through SMART objectives, regular feedback, and effective communication. Role model best practices in absence, conduct, and capability management. Promote a respectful, results-driven environment where innovation and growth thrive. Required Qualifications & Experience Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience. Proven expertise in lean manufacturing and electronics production processes. Deep understanding of surface-mount and through-hole technologies, PFMEA/DFMEA, and MRP systems (SAP preferred). Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Desired Qualifications Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. Experience with MES systems. Lean Six Sigma accreditation.
