Hays are working with a successful business who are looking for an experienced Accountant to join their team in Shrewsbury. working closely with the FD and finance team

Your new role

• Reports directly to the Finance Director, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial information
• Works closely with the wider finance team to ensure strong financial controls and efficient processes
• Assisting with month-end close, management accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assists with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across construction contracts
• Ensures compliance with statutory, tax, and industry-specific requirements
• Liaises with operational and commercial teams to provide meaningful financial insight
• Supports continuous improvement of finance processes and systems within the business

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working to deadlines and supporting month-end processes
• Confidence collaborating with a Finance Director and wider finance team
• Proactive and organised, with a willingness to learn and improve processes
