We are working in partnership with a leading residential developer to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their Southern commercial team.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial management across large-scale residential developments. Youll be responsible for cost control, subcontractor management, procurement, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards.
Working closely with internal teams and site operations, you will play a key role in maintaining financial control, maximising value, and supporting project delivery from pre-start through to final account.
Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities:- Manage all commercial aspects of live residential sites (including large multi-unit developments)
- Maintain strict cost control in line with company policies and procedures
- Prepare and manage budgets, valuations, and cost forecasts, including cost-to-complete reporting
- Produce accurate cost/value reconciliations and financial reports
- Lead procurement activities, including tendering and subcontractor appointment
- Manage subcontractor packages, including orders, payments, and variations
- Carry out value engineering across all trades to ensure best value delivery
- Monitor and manage project cash flow and cost performance
- Contribute to design and pre-construction phases to ensure schemes remain within budget
- Compile site start budgets and liaise with internal departments to support project mobilisation
- Attend and contribute to project meetings, presenting the commercial position
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including Building Regulations, NHBC, and HSE
- Support and mentor junior team members where required
- Build strong working relationships with site teams and supply chain partners
- HND (or higher) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Valid CSCS card
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within residential development
- Strong understanding of current market rates and construction costs
- Experience managing budgets, valuations, and cost reporting across multiple trades
- Commercially astute with strong analytical and numerical skills
- Proficient in relevant commercial systems and software (e.g. COINS or similar)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and Health & Safety
