Childcare Locum Solicitor

Location: Warrington
Rate: £60-£70 per hour, depending on experience
Contract: 12-month locum contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid / Remote working available
CRA Consulting is delighted to be working in partnership with a Local authority based in Warrington, who are seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join their legal team on a 12-month locum contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Childcare Lawyer looking for a long-term assignment within a supportive, progressive and friendly legal team.

The Role

Working within the Council's child safeguarding team, you will provide legal advice and support across a varied caseload of childcare matters.
The role involves significant levels of advocacy in the Family Court, making strong advocacy experience essential.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing legal advice on child safeguarding and childcare matters
• Undertaking advocacy in the Family Court
• Advising councillors and officers where required
• Interpreting legislation and providing practical, common-sense legal advice
• Managing a varied caseload effectively
• Working closely with social workers, officers and other professionals
• Ensuring the Council's legal responsibilities are properly considered
• Supporting the wider legal team with high-quality legal advice

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Childcare Solicitor, ideally within a Local Authority
• Strong knowledge of child safeguarding and public law
• Significant Family Court advocacy experience - essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong team-working abilities
• The ability to interpret legislation and apply it in a practical manner
• A proactive, pragmatic and client-focused approach
