Nuclear Security Consultant
Location: Options UK wide with hybrid working available from Bristol, Warrington, Surrey, Plymouth or Glasgow.
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 + Bonus and lengthy benefits package (see below)
UK Citizenship required to satisfy security clearance requirments.
We have a new vacancy open for a Nuclear Security Consultant to play a key role in delivering high-impact protective security projects within the UK nuclear sector. This is an opportunity to work on complex, safety-critical programmes, supporting clients across this highly regulated environment.

You will lead and contribute to a wide range of nuclear security activities, from project delivery and risk assessment to supporting business growth and winning new work.
About You
You will be a nuclear security professional with a strong track record of delivering security solutions in a regulated environment.
Essential:
- Experience gained in nuclear security or closely related security roles
- Strong experience delivering security risk assessments and solutions
- Experience managing or supporting security projects
- Relevant security or risk management qualification
Desirable experience in some of the following:
- Application of Security Assessment Principles (SyAPs)
- General Design Assessment (GDA)
- Vital Area Identification
- Managing risks relating to Unacceptable Radiological Consequences
- Security engineering and secure-by-design principles
- Threat, vulnerability, and risk assessment methodologies
- Conducting site security surveys
- Developing security strategies, policies, and plans
- Working within highly regulated industries (e.g. nuclear, defence, critical infrastructure)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of nuclear protective security projects to agreed scope, cost, and quality
- Act as Project Manager for security-related programmes
- Deliver a range of protective security consultancy services across the nuclear sector
- Represent the organisation in client meetings
- Contribute to bid and proposal writing for nuclear security projects
- Ensure all work is delivered in line with quality standards and regulatory requirements
