SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH & Autism
We are looking for a passionate, experienced and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide dedicated support to children with Special Educational Needs, SEMH, Autism and trauma-related needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of children who may require additional emotional, behavioural and educational support.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who may present with a range of complex needs, including Autism, SEMH, trauma and challenging behaviour. You will provide a safe, nurturing and supportive environment, helping pupils to develop their confidence, emotional regulation and educational skills.
The Successful Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working with children with SEN.
Has experience supporting children with Autism and SEMH.
Has an understanding of trauma-informed approaches and the impact trauma can have on children's behaviour and learning.
Is patient, calm, compassionate and consistent.
Can build positive and trusting relationships with children who may have complex needs.
Is confident managing challenging behaviour using positive and appropriate strategies.
Is able to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
Has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and helping them reach their potential.
Has a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as there are limited/no public transport links to the setting.
