My client is a leading environmental consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering award-winning, sustainable solutions across the UK. With over 60 years of experience, they combine expertise in ecology, arboriculture, landscape architecture, masterplanning, and environmental assessment to shape places that work for people and nature.Join a team of over 120 ecologists working out of six offices across the UK. Their locations are in beautiful countryside areas, offering widespread project reach and scenic office views. Your new role You'll be part of a dynamic ecology team working on complex and rewarding projects across the UK. You'll be based from either their Exeter or Wareham offices. Open to consultant or senior level applications.
You will be responsible for…
- Leading ecological surveys including protected species, habitat assessments, and biodiversity audits
- Preparing ecological reports and environmental impact assessments
- Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting business development and contributing to bids and proposals
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to team development (depending on level)
- A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Proven experience in a UK-based ecological consultancy
- Strong understanding of UK ecology legislation and best practice
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain / botany (desired)
- Protected species licences or ecological specialism (desired)
- Membership or eligibility for CIEEM (desired)
- £28,000 - £39,000 per annum (depending on experience)
