Structural Engineer - Contract Job details Rate: £40 - £50 per hour (Inside IR35) Location: Speke, Liverpool - Hybrid (3 days in office per week) Job type: Contract - Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week Job description Are you an experienced Structural Engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding contract role? This is an excellent opportunity for you to apply your skills in designing innovative building structures across a range of sectors, including education, retail, commercial, and conservation. As a Structural Engineer, you'll be working within a dynamic and highly skilled team, producing structural design calculations, models, and specifications while collaborating with other technical disciplines. This role offers a chance to work in a flexible hybrid setup, with 3 days per week in the office in Speke, Liverpool, and the rest of the time working remotely. About the Role In this contract role, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional structural engineering solutions for a variety of building projects. You'll play a key part in supporting the design team and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective outcomes for each project. Key Responsibilities ·Produce and check structural design calculations, drawings, models, and specifications to a high standard. ·Coordinate structural design information with other technical disciplines within the team. ·Design building structures, focusing on steelwork and reinforced concrete design. ·Use structural design software to deliver efficient, compliant, and cost-effective solutions. ·Collaborate with clients, design professionals, and internal teams during project meetings. ·Support consultations with Building Control and statutory authorities as needed. ·Ensure adherence to relevant codes and standards throughout the design process. ·Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes and documentation. What We're Looking For This role is ideal for a Structural Engineer who: ·Holds a degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent). ·Has hands-on experience in structural design of steelwork and reinforced concrete buildings. ·Is proficient in using structural design and analysis software (e.g., MIDAS, Tekla, Robot, IDEA Statica or similar). ·Has strong communication skills and enjoys collaborating with clients and multi-disciplinary teams. ·Is dedicated to ongoing professional development and keeping up to date with industry advancements. Additional Information ·Competitive day rate within IR35. ·Office presence required 3 days per week (Speke, Liverpool). ·Flexibility on working hours is available. ·Immediate start available for the right candidate.
