Year 2 Primary Teacher

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Edgbaston (B17) area for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to join a supportive school environment, with the possibility of the role continuing into September 2026 on a temp-to-perm basis for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons within Key Stage 1, supporting pupils’ academic and personal development while maintaining high expectations in the classroom. Your responsibilities will include: * Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum * Supporting pupils’ progress and preparing children for end of Key Stage 1 expectations * Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment * Assessing, tracking and monitoring pupil progress * Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils * Working collaboratively with staff, parents and senior leaders Requirements * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) * Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2 * Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks * Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills * A positive, proactive and flexible approach * Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will: * Be a passionate and committed primary teacher * Have confidence teaching Year 2 and supporting pupils towards expected outcomes * Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills * Be adaptable and able to quickly integrate into a new school environment * Create engaging and inclusive learning experiences * Work effectively as part of a supportive team About Supply Heroes: * Excellent rates of pay on PAYE * Around the clock support whenever you need it * Commitment to a quality of service and safeguarding * Support with any interviews and lesson observations * Transparency and honesty * Exclusive job roles around the West Midlands If you are interested in this role, please apply now with your CV.
