Semi-Senior Accountant – Liverpool, Merseyside Location: Liverpool, Merseyside Position Type: Permanent, Full-time | Semi-Senior Accountant Industry: Chartered Accountancy / Accounts & Business Advisory Salary: £24,000 – £30,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) About the Role We’re representing a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Liverpool, recognised for providing high-quality accounting, advisory, and business support services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice professional to gain exposure to varied client work, develop technical expertise, and progress within a supportive and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities * Assist in the preparation of accounts for Limited Companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders * Prepare management accounts, VAT returns, and bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio * Support the delivery of accounts preparation services for owner-managed businesses * Liaise directly with clients, responding to day-to-day queries and providing support * Work with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and similar systems * Ensure compliance deadlines are met and work is completed accurately and efficiently * Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery * Collaborate with colleagues across the wider team and support ongoing process improvements Ideal Candidate Profile * AAT Level 3 qualified or above * ACA / ACCA part-qualified, fully qualified, or qualified by experience * Minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice * Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Office * Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping processes * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Proactive, organised, and client-focused with strong attention to detail * Willingness to travel occasionally to other office locations where required Why This Opportunity Stands Out * Competitive salary of £24,000 – £30,000 depending on experience * Hybrid / flexible working arrangements * Supportive and collaborative team culture * Exposure to a broad range of owner-managed business clients * Clear progression and development opportunities * Inclusive and people-focused working environment * Strong emphasis on work-life balance and employee wellbeing
