ASSISTANT NIGHT MANAGER - £33,440 - PLUS NIGHT ALLOWANCE - PLUS SUPPLEMENT - MONDAY TO FRIDAY 4PM TO 2AM - BASED THETFORD AREA

The role
An opportunity has arisen to progress and develop to join our team of staff to lead the Goods- In side of the Night Shift.
You will be reporting directly to the Night Shift Manager – Goods IN/Out and working closely with the teams in both Goods IN and Goods OUT as well as communicating with all other department supervisors as and when required. For example, the Transport Department.
Your main responsibility will be as follows:
1. Managing the movement of all stock throughout the shift, in terms of picking efficiencies. WGLL – Monitor and observe throughout the shift.
2. Signing off pick sheets where required, and finalising any spot checks. WGLL – Assess the stages of picking and how its progressing.
3. Upskilling and implementing enhanced ways of working within the overall department, therefore reducing the risk of Pick Errors and Loading Errors. WGLL – Coach and encourage high levels of concentration.
4. Initiating corrective actions to ensure targets are achieved for the shift. WGLL – Communicate targets, check-in on progress, motivate.
5. Strategic planning alongside the Nights Manager and Warehouse Manager to help maintain a healthy and safety conscious working environment for all employees, whilst maintaining a high standard of delivered product. WGLL – Observe best practice is adhered to at all times.
6. Strategically help manage the night loader team in compliance with company's policies and vision. WGLL – Engage in conversation to reinforce compliance as required.
7. Feedback on corrective measures regarding colleague performance and training requirements. WGLL – Support underperformance with encouragement/constructive feedback.

Previous managerial responsibilities.
Able to work under pressure, competitive and results driven.
Strong and professional in all communication channels.
Comprehensive warehouse and transportation knowledge.
