Alcohol Liaison Nurse – Durham Location: Durham Rate: £28–£30 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time (37.5 hours) Contract: 3 Months Minimum (likely to extend) Are you an experienced Nurse with a strong background in alcohol and substance misuse? Belmont Recruitment are currently working with a specialist service in Durham to recruit a dedicated Alcohol Liaison Nurse to join their team on a full-time contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment providing specialist alcohol support and brief interventions to service users in acute and community settings. Key Responsibilities: * Deliver brief interventions and alcohol-related health assessments to service users * Provide advice, support, and referrals for clients presenting with alcohol dependency * Work closely with hospital staff, community teams, and third-sector providers to ensure smooth care pathways * Monitor and evaluate patient progress and maintain accurate documentation * Support discharge planning and provide harm reduction advice and relapse prevention strategies DesireRequirements: * Registered Nurse (RMN, RGN, or RNLD) * Strong background in alcohol liaison, substance misuse, or dual diagnosis services * Confident in managing risk and working with vulnerable service users * Experience with MDT working and partnership approaches * Excellent communication and assessment skills * Prison/CTC clearance is advantageous but not essential for this post This role would suit someone passionate about improving outcomes for people struggling with alcohol dependency, who can work flexibly across inpatient and community settings.
