Senior Quantity Surveyor - Main Contractor Location: East Midlands (regional projects) Salary: Competitive + package We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and highly respected main contractor delivering a range of regional build projects across the East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to take full commercial ownership of schemes typically ranging from £3m to £15m, working within a business known for quality delivery, repeat clients, and a strong pipeline of secured work. The Role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the end-to-end commercial management of construction projects, ensuring financial performance is maximised while maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners. You will play a key role within the commercial team, working closely with operational staff to drive project success from pre-construction through to final account. Key Responsibilities * Take full commercial responsibility for multiple construction projects * Manage project costs from tender stage through to completion * Prepare and oversee valuations, forecasts, and cost reporting * Procure and manage subcontractor packages * Negotiate contracts, variations, and final accounts * Identify and mitigate commercial risks and maximise opportunities * Work closely with site and project teams to ensure cost control * Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors * Contribute to commercial strategy and business performance What We’re Looking For * Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment * Background working on general construction / build projects * Experience managing projects in the £3m – £15m range * Ideally experience within a Tier 1 or well-structured contractor environment * Strong commercial acumen and contract knowledge * Confident negotiator with excellent communication skills * Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction (HNC/HND/Degree preferred) What’s on Offer * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package * Opportunity to take full ownership of projects * Strong pipeline of secured regional work * Stable, well-established contractor with an excellent reputation * Clear opportunities for progression within the commercial team
