We’re working with a fantastic children’s residential home in Southport, looking for caring, reliable people to join their team as Children’s Residential Support Workers. And the good news? You don’t need previous experience. If you have the right attitude, patience and willingness to learn, full training will be provided to help you become confident in the role. What you’ll be doing You’ll be part of the team supporting children and young people in a residential setting, helping to provide a safe, stable and positive home environment. Every day will be different. You could be supporting with activities, helping with routines, encouraging independence, attending appointments or simply being there for a young person when they need someone they can trust. It’s a role where the little things can make a big difference. The rota These are 12-hour shifts, with both day and waking night opportunities available. The rota follows a set pattern, giving you a good balance of work and time off. Example 4-week rota: Week 1: Friday, Saturday & Sunday Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday Week 3: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday Week 4: Wednesday & Thursday The rota then repeats. What we’re looking for * No previous experience required – full training is provided * A genuine interest in supporting children and young people * A patient, calm and positive approach * Someone reliable who can commit to a residential rota * Full-time, permanent right to work in the UK * Full UK driving licence and access to a car * Must be over 22 years old * Based within approximately a 30-minute commute of Southport What’s on offer * £28,000 per year * 12-hour day or night shifts available * Full training and support from day one * The opportunity to build a career in children’s residential care * A structured rota with regular time off * The chance to make a genuine difference to young people You don’t need years of experience to be good at this job.
