As an experienced teacher, whether in mainstream or SEND, you want to deliver the very best for your students. But sometimes, your goals, your standards, and the impact you know you can have get diluted by the environment you’re in. This is your chance to change that.
One of our Schools in Greenwich is looking for an English Teacher to join them this September. If you also enjoy teaching Art, that’s a real bonus, but what really matters here is your ability to connect, relate, and bring learning to life in a way that feels safe and meaningful.
This is a small, specialist setting with just 25–30 pupils with classes capped at eight. The students you’ll support have often experienced significant bullying and live with high levels of anxiety. They don’t present with challenging behaviour, instead, they may withdraw or shut down when overwhelmed, that’s why empathy matters more than anything else.
This school has worked tirelessly to create an environment that doesn’t just support students, but also every member of staff. The teaching team is energetic, welcoming, and deeply passionate about what they’re building together. You’ll feel that from day one. The culture is shaped by a hands-on, supportive Headteacher who values collaboration and creates a genuine sense of unity across the team.
You’ll be teaching across a broad academic range from GCSE and Functional Skills to students working at a primary level, so flexibility and creativity in your approach will be key.
What you can expect:
-
A genuinely supportive environment where staff are valued as much as students.
-
Small class sizes that allow you to build real relationships.
-
Informal day-to-day working focused on connection, not rigid structure.
-
A 36-week working year, giving you significantly more time off than mainstream schools.
-
PPA time from home once you’re settled.
-
Ongoing SEND training and CPD to support your career journey. xwzovoh
