About the role

Basildon | Chemical Process Operator We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Chemical Process Operative to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will carry out chemical processing operations while ensuring that all work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with company procedures. Full training will be given Salary💷 £14.02 per hour Hours: Monday – Thursday: 7.00am - 4.00pm Friday - 7.30am - 12.30pm Benefits * Competitive salary * Company pension scheme * 25 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays, Christmas shut down * Death in Service benefit * Long Service awards Main Responsibilities * Carry out chemical processing operations in accordance with written instructions * Prepare, monitor and maintain chemical solutions and process tanks * Load and unload components safely * Complete production and process records accurately * Enter and update production information using Microsoft Excel * Access electronic work instructions and company systems using Windows * Perform routine temperature and chemical concentration checks * Inspect processed components for quality and conformity * Follow COSHH requirements, risk assessments and safe working procedures * Wear and maintain the required personal protective equipment * Report process issues, defects and safety concerns promptly * Maintain a clean, organized and safe working area Candidate Requirements * Previous chemical processing or manufacturing experience is preferred * Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and Windows * Ability to enter, update and save production information accurately * Confidence using a computer to access work instructions and complete records * Good attention to detail * Ability to follow written process instructions * Strong awareness of health and safety * Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team * Willingness to undertake relevant training * Flexibility to work overtime when required The employee must also strive to support the elements of the SQCDP framework of the wider Gardner business; * Safety: work in line with all accredited company safety standards to provide a safe working environment for all * Quality: support the quality accreditations across the business to ensure delivery of a ‘right first time’ performance * Cost: support the continuous improvements in cost reduction activities across the company to deliver increased profitability and value for money to our customers and stakeholders * Delivery: drive improvement in delivery performance to continually exceed customer expectations and targets * People: support organizational capability and influence cultural change by embracing diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and community NOTE: Due to the nature of this role and the security requirements linked to projects with the UK Ministry of Defence, applicants must be eligible for UK Security Clearance
