M&E Quantity Surveyor – Edinburgh

We are working with a well-established and highly respected Building Services Contractor who are looking to appoint an M&E Quantity Surveyor to their team in Edinburgh . This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business with a strong pipeline of work across Scotland and the UK.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of Major Industrial Units (Big Sheds), Substations, Petrochemical Facilities, and CAT A Fit-Outs , working closely with internal delivery teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and contractual aspects of M&E packages across multiple projects

• Prepare and review bills of quantities, valuations, variations, and final accounts

• Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate forecasting, cost reporting, and commercial risk management

• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultant teams throughout project lifecycle

• Ensure cost controls are implemented effectively and commercial processes are followed

• Support tendering, procurement, and bid pricing activity when required

About You

• Experience working as an M&E QS , ideally within a building services, construction, or specialist subcontractor setting

• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical contracting commercial processes

• Confident communicator who is comfortable working with clients, site teams, and stakeholders

• Good working knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT)

• Strong analytical skills and an organised, methodical approach to financial controls and reporting
