Role: Senior Java Developer

Rate: £475-£500 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: Remote with ad-hoc days to the HQ in Newcastle

Terms: 6-month contract + extension

We are currently supporting a client undertaking a major transformation of their Learning Management System (LMS). As part of a wider optimisation initiative, they are replacing their existing Cornerstone LMS with a new platform.

The project is currently in the design and architecture phase, and the team is looking to bring in a Senior Java Developer who can contribute to technical decision-making, architecture discussions, and hands-on development as the new platform is built and implemented.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced developer who enjoys working closely with architects, influencing system design, and delivering high-quality backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and architecture of the new LMS platform
• Develop and maintain backend services using Java
• Support the integration and implementation of the new LMS solution
• Work closely with architects and technical leads to shape the platform’s technical direction
• Deliver high-quality, maintainable code while working independently on assigned tasks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the development and implementation lifecycle

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong Java development experience in enterprise environments
• Experience working with Node. xwzovoh js
• Experience contributing to system design and architecture discussions
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Desirable Experience

• Experience working with AWS
• Experience working on platform migrations or system replacements
• Exposure to modern cloud-based architectures
