Harkaye Core Talent is exclusively partnering with a progressive and ambitious law firm looking to appoint an Employment Partner / Senior Employment Solicitor to play a pivotal role in the continued growth of its Employment offering in Nottingham.

This is a standout opportunity for a senior lawyer who is ready to step into (or further establish themselves in) a leadership role, with a clear mandate to shape strategy, drive growth, and build a high-performing team.

The Opportunity

You will join an established Employment team currently comprising a Partner, two Solicitors (including a Trainee), and a Secretary, with a strong foundation already in place.

Your focus will be to:

• Lead and develop the team, mentoring and supporting junior lawyers
• Work closely with the existing Partner to drive business development and expand the client base
• Play a key role in shaping the future direction and growth strategy of the department
• Strengthen the firm’s presence across the regional market

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys both people leadership and strategic growth, not just fee-earning.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing and managing the Employment team’s day-to-day performance
• Delivering high-quality advice across a broad range of employment matters (both contentious and non-contentious)
• Leading on business development initiatives, networking, and client relationship management
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members, including a Trainee
• Collaborating with the wider leadership team to drive departmental success

About You

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with significant experience in Employment Law
• Currently operating at Senior Associate, Legal Director, or Partner level
• Strong track record in business development and client relationship building
• Proven ability (or clear ambition) to lead and grow a team
• Commercially minded with a strategic approach to growth
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
