The reliable new route will almost double road capacity over the river east of London to reduce congestion and give millions of people more choice on where they live, work and spend their valuable time. We have a diverse programme team on LTC that reflects the communities we work in and fosters an inclusive culture by actively supporting the programme's Purpose, Principles and Cultural Pillars and growing employee networks.You will be working in the infrastructure OU where our team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.We are currently looking for a Senior Planning Engineer who will work with the Planning Manager to develop, maintain and update the project programme for the Lower Thames Crossing.As the Senior Planning Engineer, you will:Plan sections of the project from first principles, working with design and delivery teams as appropriate. Develop plans and programmes that can be delivered safely, efficiently and reliably.Assist in maintaining and updating main project programme, performance indicators and progress records, deliver collaborative planning and short-term programmes and prepare programme submission documents.Work with project team and suppliers to produce and maintain collaborative look-ahead programmes that align with the main programme. Maintain programme and interpret outputs, then work with project team to identify and implement solutions, drive efficiencies, eliminating waste and reasons for delay.Communication of the programme to our customers, internal and external, in a style that suits their needs.Assist with the development of planners and assistant planners.We are looking for:Construction experience and technical understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques and best practices.  Understanding of various forms of construction documents, contracts and specifications.Experience in both design and construction phase planning ideally whilst working for a construction contractor.Experience of various methods of planning, programming, and progress monitoring.Understanding of risk and opportunity management with particular reference to planning/programming.Understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements.Relevant CSCS CardWhat we offer:24/7 digital GP service for you and your family  Financial wellbeing and employee assistance  Professional development  Enhanced family benefits (including maternity, paternity, dependants and parental bereavement leave)  Inclusion and Diversity We thrive through embracing differences as we know that diversity opens a rich potential for new ways of thinking, helping us to build successful and high-performing teams.
