Job Description Offer a sophisticated Real Estate Finance service that caters to the unique needs of experienced Real Estate professionals, with an expected target debt requirement of 3mn+, specifically in the Residential Investment market.Develop and enhance relationships with both new to bank and existing HNW clients’businessesProvide effective lending and deposit solutions to meet the needs of such clients, building a profitable and sustainable portfolio which contributes positively to both sides of the AL commercial balance sheetWork professionally and proactively to represent the Bank both externally and internallyWork closely with Private Bankers to encourage internal networks for the referral of businessKey ResponsibilitiesOrigination and Primary relationship management responsibility of a portfolio of more complex real estate clients, serving as their strategic partner in the bank and acting as a gateway to other products and services. Specific responsibility for developing the ALREF offer in the UK and also to source business for the wider bank. Meet demanding new business development targets and ensure unwavering commitment to service excellenceManage and develop a high value and complex portfolio of both assets and liabilities (including the management of a loan book) with particular focus on its impact on the P&L and Balance SheetWithin a 6-month period, develop and present business cases and initiate credit proposals that are complex, in-depth and larger value to meet your clients’ needs and that meet the ALREF standards.. Overall responsibility for your own risk and regulatory performance as a senior member of the banking team, including the client acquisition processManage and develop an extensive network of external business relationships and introducers to acquire, develop and service SME clientsWork proactively with the Director, UK Real Estate to develop a strategic business plan for your area, including support in the development of less experienced Relationship Managers and Support staffRisk:Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures .Key InterfacesClients - and their representatives and advisersBanking team - both locally and across the wider Commercial Banking businessBack Office departments - including working closely with Credit, Compliance, Portfolio Control and the Operations departmentsPerson SpecificationKnowledge / Experience / Skills:You will have a successful background in Commercial Banking with broad experience across the financial services industry and detailed knowledge of the Real Estate market in which you will operate Significant Commercial Banking experience dealing with Real Estate clients in both investment and development to hold.Proven track record in developing new business and growing a portfolio of high quality Real Estate clientsFulfil the responsibilities required under the FCA’s pillars.Excellent interpersonal skills including networking, negotiation, presentation, influencing and collaborationExcellent business development skillsExcellent risk analysis and credit report writing skills, incorporating the ability to present effectively to Credit Committee in a way that inspires confidence and credibilityCompetence with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerpointQualificationsPreferred: banking qualifications ACIB/Chartered Banker or equivalentCompetenciesBusiness and Commercial FocusPerformance FocusPlanning & ReviewingTeam Working & CollaborationOther AL Competencies to consider:Client FocusExcellent Administrative and Organisational skillsInfluencing OthersLeading OthersProblem Solving and JudgementRelationship ManagementAbout UsLife, Work and BenefitsAt Arbuthnot Latham, we seek proactive individuals who embrace high standards and bring the energy needed to drive success.
