We’re partnering with a global chemicals organisation to appoint an R&D Lead Formulator to drive innovation and lead a high-performing technical team.

About the Role

This is a leadership role within a well-established R&D function, offering the opportunity to shape product development strategy while remaining close to hands-on formulation and technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 5 direct reports + 1 indirect
• Drive formulation development and oversee complex R&D projects
• Align technical programmes with business objectives and commercial priorities
• Manage project pipelines from concept through to product commercialisation
• Engage with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners
• Oversee budgets, timelines, and technical risk across multiple projects
• Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and best laboratory practices

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

Required Skills

• Proven team management / leadership experience
• Strong background in chemical formulation within an R&D environment
• Track record of delivering projects from development to commercialisation
