The Role and Team
The Disabled Children and Young People’s Early Help Team (Front Door) supports children aged 0-18 with significant needs arising from disabilities. The goal is simple but vital: ensure disabled children and their families have access to needs-led services that promote resilience and improve life chances.
As a Deputy Team Manager, you will join an experienced, child-focused team. Your responsibilities include:

Strategic Oversight: Managing children’s planning from the point of referral.

Decision Making: Signing off EHCP contributions and deciding on single assessments in line with eligibility criteria.
*
Leadership: Supervizing and supporting staff within the Front Door while occasionally undertaking statutory social work tasks.
*
Collaboration: Working with multi-agency partners to ensure accurate assessments and effective support plans.

Requirements
To be successful in this leadership role, you must have:

Professional Standing: Social Work England registration and completion of the Senior Social Worker progression pathway.
*
Experience: Completion of ASYE (if qualified after 2012) and a proven track record in statutory services.
*
Mobility: A full driving licence and willingness to drive across the county.
*
Compliance: Enhanced DBS clearance for both Adults and Children.
Note for Skilled Workers: Applications from those already in the UK on a visa will be considered if you have a minimum of 2 years of UK statutory experience and are looking to relocate to Gloucestershire.
