We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team of our charming privately owned 27‑bedroom hotel in Solihull. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled chef who is ready to take the next step in their career, with sponsorship available for the right apprentice‑level candidate.
About the Role
As Junior Sous Chef, you will play a key part in the smooth running of the kitchen. You will support the Head Chef and confidently lead the kitchen during their absence, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook dishes from scratch using fresh ingredients.
Lead the kitchen team when the Head Chef is away.
Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards.
Assist with menu preparation, stock control, and ordering.
Work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional kitchen.
Open to apprentice-level candidates seeking sponsorship.
Valid Food Safety Certificate.
Full UK driving licence due to the hotel location.
Confident, reliable, and able to supervise kitchen operations.
Passionate about high-quality, freshly prepared food.
