About the role

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (M&E) Location: Birmingham Salary: £90,000+ Package The Role: * Take commercial responsibility for M&E projects from early design through to practical completion and final account * Maintain financial control across projects, including monthly valuations, cost reviews and job costing * Prepare and submit monthly valuations following site measurements and work-in-progress reviews * Manage variations, change control and associated commercial recovery * Manage and agree final accounts and ensure payments are received in line with contract terms * Review contracts prior to signing, identifying commercial risks, assumptions and caveats * Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and site teams * Work closely with the Commercial Manager and senior management team * Help improve commercial processes, controls and overall project performance The Company: * Established and growing M&E contractor * Strong pipeline of mechanical and electrical projects * Excellent reputation within the building services sector * Continued investment in the commercial team as the business expands * Genuine opportunity for commercial ownership and long-term career progression Salary & Benefits: * £90,000+ salary/package for the right candidate * Competitive overall benefits package * Company pension * Ongoing professional development and career progression * Opportunity to work on major M&E projects with a stable project pipeline The Ideal Candidate: * Minimum 3 years’ Quantity Surveying experience * Previous M&E, building services or relevant construction experience * Strong experience across valuations, variations, cost control and final accounts * Commercially astute with a strong understanding of contractual and project risk * Experience with JCT contracts from a client and/or subcontractor perspective * Quantity Surveying or relevant construction qualification * RICS, CIOB or ICES qualified/working towards accreditation would be advantageous * Strong communication, organisation and client-facing skills Process: * Apply for the position and we will contact you to discuss the opportunity * If suitable, we will submit your details and arrange an interview with the client * Offer made if successful
