Powder Coating Plant Leader Location: Middlesbrough Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:00 Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting a well-established manufacturing business in the appointment of a Powder Coating Plant Leader. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader to take ownership of a busy coating operation and drive performance, quality, and continuous improvement. The Role As Powder Coating Plant Leader, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of the powder coating facility. You will oversee daily production activities, manage the team, and ensure products meet both internal and customer standards while maintaining strong productivity and cost control. Key Responsibilities Operations & Production * Manage day-to-day powder coating operations including preparation, coating, curing, and finishing * Ensure production schedules are delivered in line with manufacturing plans * Monitor plant performance, throughput, and efficiency * Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements Quality Control * Ensure all coated products meet required specifications and standards * Investigate defects and implement corrective actions * Maintain quality documentation and traceability records Health, Safety & Environment * Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations * Promote safe working practices and enforce PPE usage * Support training and maintain safe systems of work Leadership & Team Management * Lead, develop, and motivate a team of operators and technicians * Plan staffing levels to meet production demand * Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and quality Equipment & Continuous Improvement * Oversee maintenance of coating lines, spray booths, ovens, and associated equipment * Work closely with maintenance teams to minimise downtime * Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality Inventory & Materials * Manage powder, chemicals, and consumables * Monitor usage and control costs * Ensure stock levels meet operational requirements About You * Proven experience supervising or managing a powder coating or finishing operation * Strong understanding of powder coating processes and surface preparation * A hands-on leader with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills * A strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement * Experience within manufacturing or metal fabrication environments (desirable) Why Apply? * Competitive salary of £45,000 – £50,000 * Monday to Friday (Apply online only) * Opportunity to lead and shape a key operational function * Supportive and growing manufacturing environment If you are a driven operational leader looking to take the next step in your career, apply now or contact Jackson Hogg for a confidential discussion
