Senior Design & Development Engineer A rare opportunity for an exceptional Senior Design & Development Engineer to join a cutting-edge technology company developing highly innovative products at the intersection of advanced engineering and emerging technologies.

This is a hands-on role focused on taking ideas from concept and prototype through to fully developed, manufacturable products.

Location: Saffron Walden / Greater Cambridge area (5 days onsite) Salary: £80,000
- £150,000 per annum benefits Requirements for Senior Design & Development Engineer: A 2.1 or 1st class degree in Engineering, Physics, Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline Outstanding academic credentials throughout education.

This team is comprised of exceptionally bright engineers and scientists; therefore, candidates should have achieved excellent academic results, including at least AAA at A Level (or international equivalent), alongside a degree from a leading international university Demonstrable experience in a senior design, product development or R&D engineering role Proven experience taking products from concept through prototype and into production Strong CAD design experience Experience with PCB electronics and electronic system design Extensive additive manufacturing experience including rapid prototyping techniques Understanding of CAD and PDM methodologies Strong practical engineering ability with excellent workshop and hands-on development skills Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome complex technical challenges Ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies and engineering disciplines Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams Willingness to work onsite five days per week Ability to travel at short notice when required The following would be highly beneficial: Personal engineering projects demonstrating a passion for building and creating Experience designing and building machines, robotics, automation systems or other complex electromechanical products Experience working within fast-paced R&D environments Exposure to product industrialisation and manufacturing processes Responsibilities for Senior Design & Development Engineer: Design, develop and refine innovative products from early-stage concepts through to production-ready designs Create detailed CAD models and engineering designs Design, build and test physical prototypes Develop PCB-based electronic systems and integrate them into wider products Rapidly iterate designs based on testing and experimental results Identify and solve complex engineering challenges across multiple disciplines Improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability and efficiency Work closely with engineers and technical specialists across multiple disciplines Support product development throughout the full engineering lifecycle Contribute directly within workshop and R&D environments through hands-on engineering activities What the role offers: Opportunity to work on genuinely innovative technology projects Significant ownership and influence over product development Exposure to the complete product lifecycle from concept through to manufacture A highly technical and intellectually stimulating environment The opportunity to work alongside exceptional engineers and scientists Excellent salary and long-term career prospects Applications: If you would like to apply for this unique engineering opportunity, please send your CV via the relevant links.
