Trainee Machine Tool Service Engineer

Role: Trainee Machine Tool Service Engineer Location: Manchester/Field Based Salary: Up to £32,000 depending on experience My client is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Machine Tool Service Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in engineering, gaining hands-on experience with CNC and conventional machine tools. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will receive full training and support to develop the technical skills required to install, maintain, and repair advanced machinery while delivering high levels of customer service. Responsibilities include: Assist with the installation, commissioning, and testing of machine tools Support fault finding and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance under supervision Learn to provide technical support to customers on machine operation Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation Always follow health and safety procedures Participate in training and development activities to build technical knowledge Skills and experience: Relevant qualification in engineering (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent) preferred Some hands-on experience (work placement, apprenticeship, or personal projects) is advantageous Full UK driving licence Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
