Senior Sales Consultant – Energy Consultancy
Stoneleigh Park / Hybrid
up to £45,000 + commission
NFU Energy is looking for a Senior Sales Consultant to help grow our consultancy business.
This role is suited to someone with strong consultative sales experience who is comfortable building opportunities, leading client conversations and converting work through to close. You will be selling advisory and consultancy services, not off-the-shelf products, so the role needs commercial judgement, credibility and the ability to shape solutions around client need.
You will need to be able to create traction. That means being confident with outreach, strong in discovery, credible in front of clients and disciplined in progressing opportunities. We are looking for someone who can sell consultancy properly: understanding the problem, shaping the offer and converting the opportunity.
You will be supported by a clear sales structure, growing marketing activity, and strong technical expertise across the business.
What you’ll be doing
generating and winning new consultancy business
leading opportunities from qualification through to proposal, negotiation and close
carrying out direct outreach into agreed sectors, accounts and opportunities
running strong discovery conversations to understand client need and define the right next step
shaping offers around client outcomes and commercial value
developing proposals and leading commercial discussions
working closely with BDEs to build pipeline and keep live opportunities moving
working with technical colleagues on larger, more complex or higher-value opportunities
feeding market and client insight back into proposition development
What we’re looking for
strong experience in consultative B2B sales
a track record of winning new business
experience leading opportunities through discovery, proposal and close
confidence dealing with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
strong commercial judgement and good sales discipline
someone who is proactive, resilient and comfortable creating momentum
experience in energy, technical services, consultancy, professional services or a related sector would be helpful
