Sub Agent – Major Infrastructure Project Somerset | Long-Term Contract | Immediate Start We are currently recruiting for experienced Sub Agents to join one of the UK’s largest and most high-profile infrastructure projects based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset. This is a superb opportunity to secure long-term freelance work on a nationally significant civil engineering programme, with 5–7 years of planned works ahead. The team is expanding and requires strong Sub Agents who can lead sections of work, support the Site Agent, and drive safe, efficient delivery within a complex infrastructure environment. The Role Reporting to the Site Agent / Project Manager, you will take responsibility for managing a defined section of works during your shift, ensuring progress, safety and quality standards are consistently achieved. Key responsibilities will include: * Supervising day-to-day site operations within your work area * Managing engineers, subcontractors and direct workforce * Ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with programme * Reviewing and implementing RAMS, permits and site documentation * Coordinating closely with engineering, commercial and planning teams * Monitoring productivity and resolving technical or operational issues * Maintaining strict compliance with health, safety and quality standards This role requires someone confident taking ownership on shift and maintaining momentum across a live infrastructure environment. Working Pattern * 12:00pm – 10:00pm shift pattern * 10 days on / 4 days off rotation * Weekend working included within the rotation This structure provides consistency, strong earning potential and a predictable schedule. Rate * £600 per shift (Monday–Friday) * x1.5 uplift for Saturday and Sunday shifts * PAYE Umbrella Requirements * Proven experience working as a Sub Agent on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects * Strong leadership and organisational skills * Experience managing subcontractors and site teams * SMSTS and CSCS certification * Solid understanding of health, safety and quality requirements on large-scale projects The Opportunity With an immediate requirement and long-term secured works ahead, this is an excellent opportunity for experienced Sub Agents seeking stable freelance work on a flagship UK infrastructure scheme.
