Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
Salary: £32,000 £35,000 per annum (DOE)
We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a specialist care service in Great Yarmouth. This is a key leadership role supporting the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.
The service operates using a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model, focusing on promoting independence, choice, inclusion and quality of life for all residents.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Home Manager in the overall operation of the service
Lead, supervise and support care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
Take responsibility for the service in the absence of the Home Manager
Monitor residents wellbeing and ensure care plans are accurate and up to date
Support medication management and care documentation
Conduct staff supervision, appraisals and ongoing development
Act as safeguarding lead in the absence of the Home Manager
Ensure compliance with CQC standards, health and safety and infection control requirements
Build strong relationships with residents, families and external professionals
Promote a positive, inclusive environment and encourage resident engagement and independence
Requirements
Previous experience as a Deputy Manager within a residential care setting
Strong understanding of learning disabilities and complex care needs
Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches (desirable)
Good understanding of CQC standards and regulatory compliance
Experience in staff supervision, development and performance management
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams
