Test Engineer

Test Engineer, up to £32.00 per hour, Automotive Electrification Testing, Commutable from Basildon, Essex * Work at the forefront of automotive electrification testing! * 12-month contract role, up to £32.00 per hour (Inside IR35 basis). * Role would suit somebody with experience of working within a Test Engineer, Project Engineer, Development Engineer, Automotive or similar engineering role. * Previous automotive engineering experience is advantageous. We are looking for a highly motivated Test Engineer to work at the cutting edge of automotive electrification testing. You will act as the key link between the customer and the engineering test team, making sure tests run safely, smoothly, and to the highest standard. Your background as a Test Engineer: * Practical engineering experience in a test engineering or development engineering or similar engineering / technology development and/or validation environment. * Familiarity with test instrumentation, data acquisition and use of hand tools. * You will be degree qualified in an automotive engineering or similar mechanical engineering or electrical engineering discipline. * Strong attention to detail with a structured, methodical approach. * Clear communicator who can confidently liaise with both customers and technical teams. * A full UK driving licence is required. Test Engineer Responsibilities: * Delivering customer automotive electrification test programmes. * You will be working in a multi‑disciplinary test environment, managing test activities and applying engineering judgement to solve customer testing challenges. * Manage and deliver customer test programmes from quotation through to final report. * Plan and execute tests in line with customer, quality, and safety requirements. * Apply engineering expertise to develop test methodologies, procedures, rigs and fixtures. * Produce test documentation including risk assessments, reports and supporting records. This Test Engineer role is commutable from Basildon, Wickford, Rayleigh, Billericay, Laindon, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Upminster, Southend, and surrounding areas.
