TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School in the DE23 area, who are looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their SEND provision. The school promotes an inclusive and supportive environment, with a strong Senior Leadership Team dedicated to supporting both staff and pupils throughout their learning journey.
The school is looking to take on a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis until July, with the role continuing into September for the right SEND Teaching Assistant. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 4 child, supporting challenging behaviours and helping the pupil engage positively within the classroom environment.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience working with children with SEND and challenging behaviours
Experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis within a school setting
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
Strong behaviour management skills
Excellent communication and adaptability
A ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to support where needed
