Trauma Informed Practitioner

Job Title: Trauma Informed Practitioner Location: Dudley Pay rate: £95–£110 per day (Depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Support vulnerable pupils by creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments that help them engage in learning and thrive emotionally! GSL Education are searching for a compassionate Trauma Informed Practitioner to work in schools across Dudley, supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma and require specialist emotional and behavioural support. In this role, you will use trauma-informed approaches to build trusting relationships, reduce barriers to learning, and help pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive engagement with education. About the role: As a Trauma Informed Practitioner, you will work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leaders to support pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Your focus will be on creating consistency, safety, and meaningful relationships that support long-term progress. Prime Responsibilities of Trauma Informed Practitioner: Provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to vulnerable pupils Use trauma-informed strategies to support regulation and wellbeing Build strong, consistent relationships with students Support pupils in accessing learning and managing school expectations Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies Contribute to personalised support plans and behaviour strategies What we are looking for Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or trauma backgrounds Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice (training desirable) Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Calm, patient, and resilient approach Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice To work with GSL Education, you should Have the right to work in the UK Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant recent references Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one If you are a dedicated Trauma Informed Practitioner ready to make a real difference in Dudley schools, we welcome your application.
