Job Description:
This Design Engineer role is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to the development and refinement of high-quality products. The successful Design Engineer will be responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, developing 3D models, and supporting the transition from design to manufacture.
Working closely with production teams, the Design Engineer will ensure that designs are practical, efficient, and aligned with manufacturing best practices. This Design Engineer position requires strong communication skills, as you will liaise with factory staff and other stakeholders to optimise designs and resolve any production challenges.
The Design Engineer will also play a key role in maintaining design standards, improving processes, and ensuring all drawings and models meet required specifications. This Design Engineer role suits someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment where design decisions directly impact the final product.
As a Design Engineer, you will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept development through to final production support. This Design Engineer opportunity offers the chance to work on bespoke and technically interesting projects within a growing and respected organisation.
Skills & experience:
* Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field
* Proven experience using AutoCAD for 2D technical drawings
* Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks for 3D design
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to collaborate effectively with factory and production teams
* Understanding of design for manufacturing principles
* Proactive, organised, and able to work to deadlines
