About the role

Position: Pastoral Teacher – Reset Provision Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Long‑term (initial contract until July, with potential to become permanent) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday About the Role We are seeking a passionate and committed Pastoral Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Salisbury, working within the school’s Reset department. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply committed to pastoral care and supporting students who require additional behavioural and emotional support to re‑engage with learning. You will work with a small group of approximately 4–5 students who have been temporarily removed from mainstream classes. The focus of the role is on restoring positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and readiness to reintegrate into mainstream lessons, rather than delivering a traditional academic timetable. Key Responsibilities Providing structured pastoral teaching and support within the Reset provision Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs Delivering calm, consistent routines and targeted interventions Helping students reflect on behaviour and develop strategies for success Working closely with pastoral leaders, SEN staff, and teaching colleagues Supporting reintegration back into mainstream lessons where appropriate Contributing to safeguarding, monitoring, and professional record‑keeping About the School A well‑established and highly regarded secondary school serving the local Salisbury community Strong values rooted in care, respect, and personal responsibility Clear behaviour systems and a strong focus on student wellbeing A supportive leadership team with a well‑developed pastoral structure Committed to inclusion, high expectations, and positive outcomes for all learners What We’re Looking For Experience working in a pastoral, behaviour, SEN, or alternative provision role Qualified teacher or experienced unqualified teacher with strong pastoral expertise A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach Genuine passion for pastoral support and student wellbeing (essential) Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills Ability to work collaboratively within a pastoral and SEN framework What’s on Offer Long‑term opportunity with the potential to become permanent Supportive and values‑driven school environment Opportunity to make a lasting impact on students who need it most A highly rewarding pastoral teaching role outside of mainstream classroom pressures
