About the role
CNC Recruitment are looking for a skilled and reliable Paint Sprayer (Night Shift) to join our client in Yeovil.

Salary:£22.26 per hour + performance-based incentives
Overtime Rates:
- Over 40.5 hours/week: +33% of basic hourly rate
- Weekend rota (Saturday/Sunday): +50% of basic hourly rate
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours:Monday to Thursday: 10:00pm 6:00am (includes 10-minute and 20-minute paid breaks)
Responsibilities:
1. Surface Preparation & Application
- Prepare components (cleaning, degreasing, sanding, masking, pre-treatment)
- Apply coatings using spray equipment to achieve high-quality finishes
- Ensure correct paint mixing, viscosity, and application techniques
2. Technical & Quality Compliance
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Monitor coating thickness, finish quality, and curing processes
- Conduct in-process and final inspections
- Identify and report defects or non-conformances
3. Equipment & Tools
- Operate and maintain spray guns, compressors, and equipment
- Use hand and power tools for preparation and finishing
- Ensure equipment is correctly maintained and calibrated
4. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Follow all health & safety regulations (including COSHH and PPE)
- Maintain a clean, organised workspace
- Adhere to environmental and hazardous material procedures
5. Documentation & Communication
- Complete production records accurately
- Report issues, delays, or quality concerns promptly
- Communicate effectively with team members and departments
6. Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with aerospace and internal quality standards
- Work independently on night shifts to meet production deadlines
- Support investigation and resolution of quality issues (including root cause analysis)

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Relevant spray painting experience (aerospace, automotive, or similar high-precision industry)
Desirable:
- Vocational qualification in painting/coating (e.g. NVQ or equivalent)
