SEND Teaching Assistant Primary School - Oldham Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Role Start Date: ASAP Are you a Teaching Assistant with SEND experience, or do you come from a care background? Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Oldham. This is a full-time, long-term position, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with complex needs, physical disabilities, and additional special educational needs, making a genuine difference in their educational journey. The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide one-to-one and small group support for students Support pupils with complex needs and physical disabilities Work closely with teachers to help students access learning and achieve their potential Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff Promote student wellbeing and safeguarding at all times Contribute to the wider school environment and support strategies Requirements To be successful in this role, you will: Have experience as a Teaching Assistant, or within a care/support role Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Be able to build strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues Have a caring, patient, and nurturing approach Demonstrate a solid understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures Hold a valid child-only DBS (or be willing to obtain one) What's on Offer Term-time only role, ideal for work-life balance Opportunity for the role to become permanent A supportive school environment with strong leadership Ongoing professional development through Tradewind, including CPD via The National College A chance to work alongside experienced education professionals Next Steps This role is available for an immediate start and is expected to run until July 2026, so early applications are encouraged.
