About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive health and safety support across all areas of the organisation, operating within a fast‑paced, high‑performance motorsport environment. The role will have a visible and wide‑reaching impact, acting as a central point of contact and trusted advisor for health and safety matters across shop‑floor operations, manufacturing and testing facilities, trackside activities, commercial functions, and off‑site teams. You will play a key role in engaging, influencing, and supporting teams to maintain high safety standards while enabling performance and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Support departments in the creation, review, and maintenance of Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist key stakeholders in collating and maintaining COSHH documentation, including chemical inventories, safety data sheets, and risk assessments.
- Proactively promote a positive health and safety culture across the business, including delivering toolbox talks and working closely with the Health & Safety Committee.
- Lead accident, incident, and near‑miss investigations, carrying out root cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are identified, implemented, and tracked.
- Conduct regular audits and workplace inspections to ensure compliance with internal standards, company procedures, and relevant health and safety legislation.
- Provide competent advice and guidance on health and safety matters, including the selection and correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Provide ongoing advice and guidance on a broad range of health and safety topics.

Core Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of key health and safety topics relevant to motorsport and advanced manufacturing, including PUWER, DSEAR, LOLER, vibration, occupational hygiene, fire safety, COSHH, DSE, PPE, working at height, and manual handling.
- Sound understanding of contractor control within a live operational environment, including RAMS review, statutory inspections, and supporting Facilities and Maintenance teams in meeting their health and safety responsibilities.
- Experience applying health and safety principles within fast‑paced, high‑risk environments such as manufacturing, assembly, and/or trackside operations.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to produce clear reports and professional safety documentation.
- Empathetic, confident, and engaging communicator with strong verbal communication and report‑writing skills.
- Able to clearly and concisely present complex safety information and data to a wide audience, from shop‑floor technicians to senior stakeholders.
- Resilient and proactive, with the motivation and passion to influence behaviours, drive continuous improvement, and champion positive change in a performance‑driven environment.

Qualifications
- NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 health and safety qualification) is essential.
- A recognised health and safety auditing qualification would be advantageous.
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment is required, with experience in a high‑performance or technically complex industry (e.g. motorsport, automotive, aerospace, or advanced engineering) considered highly beneficial.
- Experience applying Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations and associated health and safety principles would be beneficial.
