Logistics Lead – Major Infrastructure Programme Location: London (corridor responsibility toward Birmingham) Salary: £100,000 – £120,000 per annum (DOE) Contract: Permanent (freelance also considered) The Opportunity We are recruiting a Logistics Lead to take programme‑level ownership of logistics delivery on one of the UK’s most complex and high‑profile infrastructure programmes. This is a senior leadership position, based in London, with responsibility for defining, controlling and continuously improving logistics strategy across a major works corridor extending toward Birmingham. The role sits above day‑to‑day site logistics management and is focused on strategic control, integration and performance across multiple work fronts. The successful candidate will act as the logistics authority for their section of the programme shaping how logistics is planned, governed and delivered rather than simply managing individual sites. Key Responsibilities * Own and lead the logistics strategy for a defined section of a major infrastructure programme * Provide programme‑level oversight of logistics operations across multiple sites and work packages * Set standards and governance for logistics planning, access, sequencing, consolidation and materials flow * Lead, mentor and challenge Senior Logistics Managers, Logistics Managers and coordination teams * Act as the primary logistics interface with senior construction, commercial, planning and delivery leadership * Implement and control systems for traffic management, storage, lifting and distribution across the corridor * Drive consistency and discipline in logistics delivery across multiple contractors and work streams * Ensure full compliance with health & safety, security and programme assurance requirements * Identify logistics risks early and lead mitigation strategies at a programme level * Champion continuous improvement across logistics efficiency, performance and cost control About You * Proven experience operating at Logistics Lead / Head of Logistics / Senior Programme Logistics level * Strong background in major infrastructure, rail, highways, civils or nationally significant programmes * Comfortable influencing and directing logistics delivery across multiple sites and contractors * Experienced managing senior logistics professionals, not just site‑based teams * Able to operate confidently at a strategic and governance level, while remaining delivery‑focused * Calm and authoritative communicator in high‑pressure, multi‑stakeholder environments Essential Experience * Significant senior‑level logistics leadership on major construction or infrastructure programmes * Corridor or programme‑wide logistics responsibility (not single‑site only) * Strong grasp of construction sequencing, access planning and integrated logistics systems * Excellent understanding of health, safety, assurance and compliance requirements * NVQ Level 6 * Full UK driving licence What’s On Offer * £100,000 – £120,000 salary, dependent on experience * Opportunity to operate at senior programme leadership level * Long‑term, flagship infrastructure project * High degree of autonomy and influence * Permanent role, with senior freelance options considered for the right individual Interested?
