Caritas Recruitment is working with Gloucestershire County Council to recruit an experienced Child & Family Team Manager to join their Children & Families Team based at Stroud Social Care Locality Office.

Role: Child & Family Team Manager (Social & Healthcare Qualified)
Setting: Children & Families / Safeguarding
Contract: Temporary
Rate: £47 per hour
Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire
About the Role
This is a key leadership role within the Children & Families service. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and being accountable for a team of Social Workers in the delivery of statutory services and the continuous improvement of outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
You will bring strong safeguarding experience and be confident in overseeing complex casework, providing high-quality supervision, and ensuring robust quality assurance across the team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of Social Workers delivering statutory children's services
Provide regular supervision, guidance, and performance management
Quality assure practice and decision-making across the team
Oversee work across Child Protection (CP), Child in Need (CIN), and Children in Care (CIC)
Manage and support court-related work, ensuring high professional standards
Drive service improvement and promote best practice
Working Arrangements
A hybrid model of home and office working is in place where appropriate
The successful candidate will be expected to be office-based more frequently during the initial period to support team cohesion and stability
Thereafter, attendance of at least 3 days per week in the office is expected, subject to service needs
A laptop and smartphone will be provided to support agile workingThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Team Manager to make a real impact within a supportive local authority on a well-remunerated locum basis.
